This year's Pohoda music festival, will take place on the 18th and 19th of July at Trencin airport. Pohoda began in 1997 and is now Slovakia's largest open-air summer music festival. It also acts as a venue for theatre, literature workshops, classical music, and dance.

This year's festival features a wide variety of acts including bands from Slovakia and other countries in the region. International highlights this year include: Fatboy Slim, The Streets, Editors, Matthew Herbert Big Band, Unkle, The Wombats, Brazilian Girls, Mr. Oizo, The Gossip, and Joan Baez.

A special guest at Pohoda this year is former Czechoslovakian and Czech president Vaclav Havel, who will sign a collection of his essays to be published for the series Pohoda do knihovny (Peace of Mind in Library).

The town of Trencin is only an hour and a half drive away from Bratislava, so it's a great break away from the city for visitors and locals alike.
