Christmas Markets Buzz In Bratislava
If you're still umming and ahhing over a last minute getaway, Bratislava's Christmas Markets have emerged as a perky new rival to the more established yuletide shindigs of Vienna and Nuremberg.
Bratislava's markets run all the way until dusk on 23rd of Vienna, so those seeking a dash of Slovak magic still have time to make a getaway.
As with last year, the chief market can be found on the Old Town's main square itself (Hlavne namestie) a charming confection to behold. The stalls spill over into neighbouring Frantiskanske Square, and this year there will also be a market on Hviezdoslavovo Square - not easy to pronounce after a few mulled wines. Enjoy!
