Smoking In Restaurants? Not Anymore...

Slovakian government passed a bill on a partial smoking ban this month. All of the restaurant owners will be obliged to create a separate, walled room for their smoking guests. What's more, over half of a restaurant's area will have to be designed for the non-smoking part of the clientele. As over 62 percent of the Slovakian citizens don't smoke, the smoking ban is being greeted with approval.

Why is the ban "partial"? All of the public places (such as cinemas, theatres, bus stops etc) are put under the ban, but bars and cafes which do not serve food can still chose to be either for smokers or non-smokers.

Cigarette and tobacco vending machines are supposed to disappear from the city's streets soon.
